Our Team Leader - Leaping Leopards
Hi My name is Amie.
I have been in the child care industry for over 10 years now. This is my fourth year working for Fit Kidz and I love every day of it! My family in Melbourne owns a child care Centre which is where I found my passion for working with children. It began with working there after school, on vacation programs and after school care. From there I pursued my passion to obtain my Diploma in Children’s Services. I am currently in my second year of obtaining my Bachelor of Teaching by correspondence.
I was very excited to be offered the position at Dural as the Room Leader for the Leopards, as I am known for being very passionate about re-connecting children with nature. I believe that the outdoor learning environment is an open-ended one, full of possibilities and ways for children to learn and explore. My favourite memories as a child were outside digging, making mud pies, raking the leaves for dad, and counting the pebbles in mum’s garden.
Child care is a very rewarding career, and I get a great sense of achievement when I watch the children develop, knowing that I have helped them along the way. One aspect of the job I enjoy is the relationships with families that are built; consistency of care is very important in a child’s development and partnership with families is the key to achieving this.
I think that Fit Kidz Dural is simply an amazing place for children to learn and develop, I look forward to meeting you when you come and see us.
Miss Amie
